"a ukulele troubadour whose writing style is both bubbly and sassy at the same time. Many of the places she's been and things she's experienced are front and center in her acoustic music."Hunter at Sunrise, WHRO/NPR

"Chelsea's original music is very authentic and thoughtful and she exudes such joy and a love for performing and connecting with her audience on and off the stage. Her honest and sweet-sounding folk-country vocals and ukulele stylings straddle many genres including bluegrass, modern country, alternative and singer-songwriter genres in ways that connect with a wider audience." -93.9 The Work FM

"Chelsea Hanson's music demonstrates her "out of the box" approach to songwriting; her unique voice defies genre trappings, well-suited for soulful folk tunes and dance tracks alike. Her work is introspective, thoughtful, and most importantly—a lot of fun." - WTKR "Coast Live"

BIO >150 WORDS

Chelsea Hanson is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and wanderer of the world, who is constantly exploring and growing from every place and experience, which is a common theme for much of her music. She has been singing, songwriting, and performing since she was a kid, growing up in musicals, choruses, performing arts academies, dance studios, and even an award winning A capella group in college. After graduating Magna Cum Laude at VCU in Richmond, she moved to Spain to teach English and also performed. She returned to the states a year later to become a radio personality. It wasn't until after she was in a serious car accident, where she broke both of her legs and had to learn how to walk again, did she decide to pursue her music more seriously and release songs on Spotify and Apple Music. During the pandemic, she decided to leave her radio job and started living and working on super yachts, and traveled to 20 countries in two years. In total, she’s been to 27 countries, which has impacted her music and songwriting exponentially. She believes music heals and unites people from every culture and country, and loves sharing her music and collaborating with other talented artists.

In the past year, she was a featured artist on WTKR’s morning show “Coast Live”, featured and performed at WHRO’s “Emerging Artist Concert Series”, was featured on WHRV’s “Hunter At Sunrise” morning radio show, was featured on Pharrell William’s “Something In The Water Festival” Community/Local Artist playlist, and has been releasing music professionally on Spotify and Apple Music since 2018. She also opened for VEER magazine’s Best Of 2023 winner the “JD3 Band” in Williamsburg, VA, and performed at the Richmond Blues and Bluegrass festival.

She believes we are all souls having beautiful (but sometimes tough and messy) human experiences, which makes for so much growth, lessons, and great song writing material! She loves the magical alchemy that takes place when people come together and share music.
